Ashland has appointed Barentz as distributor for personal care ingredients in Germany and Austria. Barentz and Ashland have been working together for many years in the Netherlands, Russia, Poland, the Balkans and the Baltics, and the addition of Germany and Austria is a natural next step.
Esteban von Ehrenstein, director Personal Care EMEA, Ashland, said: “Germany and Austria are important markets for Ashland, and we are aiming for considerable growth the coming years. Barentz is doing an excellent job for Ashland in other countries, and we have high expectations that they are able to replicate the level of service we’ve seen before. Barentz offers our customers outstanding support and their team of technical specialists is a valuable resource in creating innovative product solutions.”
Ashland and Barentz started working together in the Netherlands and Russia in 1996 and since then the distribution rights have expanded year by year to include Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The addition of Germany and Austria is a notable expansion of the market where the two companies cooperate.
“We are very proud of now adding Germany and Austria to the group of countries where we distribute ingredients for Ashland,” said Chris Ott, director at Barentz Personal Care. “We know Ashland’s excellent products range very well, and it strengthens and completes Barentz’ personal care portfolio in these new countries.”
