Fragrance trends: creativity is a precise art

Jo Jacobius spoke with fragrance trends experts Selena Thomas, Jessica Chor and Hera Siah from the fragrance house CPL Aromas, about the scent trends in personal care products that will be surging in 2019.

The connection between fragrance and experience has never been so important. Fragrance plays a vital role in the products we use and the products we choose launches with a flow of exciting new ingredients or other innovations. 

According to fragrance trends expert, Selena Thomas, marketing manager at CPL Aromas, fragrance plays an essential part in our lives in general reflecting changes in consumer habits. UK-based Selena said: “Within the personal care arena, the scent of a fragrance may not always be the initial reason a consumer picks up a product from the shelf as packaging and messaging will play their part; but it will be a huge deciding factor in whether a consumer will buy it and whether they will come back for more”. 

CPL Aromas has to understand not just the world of scent but the triggers to consumer behaviour.
