Beauty companies are setting their sights on the APAC region – the world’s most populous continent, in a bid to win over the rapidly growing middle classes, who use six to10 beauty products in their regimes.
And with cosmetic chemists under pressure to deliver innovation to meet this increasing demand, in-cosmetics Asia has announced the launch of a new series of R&D Tours as the event prepares to return to Bangkok from 31 October – 1 November.
The region’s personal care industry is highly innovative, catering not only for the demands of consumers across APAC, but also the western hemisphere, where they are continuing to adopt Asian beauty products in line with local preferences. The new, exclusive 1.5hr tours will provide R&D professionals with a unique experience, enabling them to discover the latest in breakthrough ingredients and technologies in a quick and highly informative manner.
Three hotspots of the industry in focus
The R&D Tours will run on all three days of the show, each expertly curated and led by leading cosmetic chemist Rouah al-Wakeel. Covering three of the most topical industry areas – Biotechnology, Microbiomics and Natural Ingredients, chemists on the ‘silent tours’ will hear exclusive commentary about the latest ingredients in each area, as well as being able to ask questions throughout the session.
The three R&D Tours are:
Biotechnology Actives (sponsored by Mibelle Biochemistry): An insightful tour with a focus on next-generation ingredients developed using molecularly-identical, natural ingredients, which can add important active properties to skincare and cosmetic formulations.
Leadership in Microbiomics (sponsored by Givaudan): Harnessing the beneficial nature of the body’s natural bacteria is already familiar in food and drink. Now skincare and cosmetics formulators are using skin-friendly bacteria to create ingredients promising healthier and more radiant skin. Take this tour to learn what’s new.
Natural Ingredients: Although hugely fashionable, these ingredients face
strong demand for proof of safety, which has led to more free-from claims, as well as transparency of sourcing, production processes and use of EWG ratings. The R&D Tours will highlight a range of new paraben-free ingredients, and those created without synthetic ingredients and fragrances or nano-particles.
Sarah Gibson, exhibition director at in-cosmetics Asia, commented: “The R&D Tours are designed to ensure that formulators don’t miss any exhibitors showcasing ingredients essential to their future NPD. By grouping the tours according to these three core industry trends, we’re delving into some of the most exciting new ingredient launches, helping visitors find the most innovative technology and maximising their time at, and investment in attending, the show.
Three R&D Tours will take place each day at 10.30-12noon, 13.30-15.00 and 15.30-17.00. For further details about this year’s in-cosmetics Asia event visit http://asia.in-cosmetics.com/
