Jeesperse OptiDerm — NCS is designed to easily and quickly form emulsions and personal care products where skin benefits and reduced signs of ageing are desired, with all of its ingredients contributing to moisturisation, conditioning, and softening of the skin. In addition, Jeesperse OptiDerm — NCS includes ceramides, essential lipids, and phytosterols all of which are ingredients that will specifically replenish the three essential components of the skin barrier lipids which naturally deplete with age, are stripped by surfactants and cleansers, or are thrown out of balance by environmental conditions, pollutants—including other personal care products, as well as other environmental contaminants.
Jeesperse OptiDerm—NCS contains, in addition to wheat germ oil, two unusual beneficial vegetable oils. Cardo oil (Cynara cardunculus seed oil) is extracted from artichoke seeds. It contains high levels of phytosterols, mainly sitosterol and stigmasterol, which are effective in down-regulating MMP-1 and also improving collagen fibre synthesis. These phytosterols are effective in enhancing the skin’s lipid barrier. The synergic activity of tocopherol and phytosterols makes the oil an excellent antioxidant ingredient. Chia oil (Salvia hispanica seed oil) is also high in phytosterols and is a naturally rich source of α-linolenic acid, an ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid.
