Cornelius now delivers a biodegradable glitter to the UK beauty market. The Bishop’s Stortford based company has collaborated with Ronald Britton to distribute its Bio-glitter range, which is based on a biodegradable film that rivals its plastic counterpart
Rachael Atwell, business development manager, Care at Cornelius, said: “We believe glitters used in personal care products and are growing in popularity among beauty consumers. Most commercially available glitters are based on PET film and have minimal biodegradability. However, there are more environmentally friendly alternatives available such as Ronald Britton’s Bioglitter range.”
Bio-glitter is produced from sustainable sources such as eucalyptus trees and does not contain genetically modified materials. Furthermore, it is a cosmetic approved glitter based on a biodegradable film that is certified compostable. Ronald Britton is the only biodegradable glitter manufacturer in the world with global accreditation.
Bio-glitter offers the same highly reflective properties as a conventional PET glitter and is available in 15 different colours and 6 different hexagonal glitter sizes. Suitable for use in dry, water and oil-based applications, bio-glitter can be incorporated into many personal care applications such as eye shadows, lipsticks, foam baths and body washes.
