Vertellus has introduced Freshstat Plus, a CPC-based (INCI: Cetylpyridinium Chloride) preservative. The newest product development in the Freshstat family, Freshstat Plus has been specially designed as a preservative for anionic surfactant systems such as SLS and SLES.
The product contains proprietary technologies that naturally boost performance of Freshstat in surfactant-based systems, including shampoos and liquid body washes. These technologies allow Vertellus’ Freshstat Plus preservative system to address challenges commonly posed by select mold species in surfactant-based product formulations.
Introduced by Vertellus in 2015, Freshstat is an odourless,colourless liquid offering formulators a high degree of versatility due to its effectiveness across a broad pH range. Safety testing has shown that CPC is negative for skin sensitisation potential and irritation at formulation levels up to 0.5 per cent and CPC is widely used in a variety of leave-on and rinse-off personal care products.
