As part of a new Spotlight On Anti-Pollution feature at in-cosmetics Asia, a number of speakers will share their expertise on this trend.
Presentations at the Marketing Trends stage, given by some of the global cosmetic industry’s most respected figures, will explore the latest technologies within this fast-paced, exciting sector. The first session, entitled ‘The potential of anti-pollution: what’s driving the trend and where is it heading’, will look at the factors fuelling the rise of the trend and the current state of the anti-pollution segment. Some of the world’s leading products will be examined, while also predicting what lies ahead in this market.
A further session from Personal Care editor Richard Scott, ‘Skin Protection: from anti-pollution to microbiome’, will give an overview of the concept of skin protection, looking at what areas it covers as well as considering the reasons behind its growth in popularity. Attendees will then be given a more detailed insight into sectors such as anti-pollution, HEV light, sun and the up-and-coming skin microbiome concept, before studying the geographical distribution of skin protection trends.
The Innovation Seminar Theatre will also play host to sessions on this topic, with Christina Ho, regional skin care marketing manager for Asia Pacific at Croda, taking the stage to explore what consumers want for their anti-pollution routine. It will cover product types and the science behind them, while visitors can also expect a practical demonstration and the distribution of samples.
Visitors will also be able to hear from Jerome Loeuil, global product manager - Anti-aging Active Ingredients for Biotech Marine – SEPPIC. He will look at the company’s new active ingredient Contacticel and how it protects the cellular metabolism (DNA and protein) from pollutants.
Pollution-proofing ingredients
As more consumers wise up to the negative effects pollution can have on their physical appearance, brands continue to further pollution-proof their products. There are now huge growth opportunities for beauty and personal care companies in Asia, who are working on new product development in this sector. A selection of the ingredients that help fight the effects of poor air quality on the skin and hair will be on display in a dedicated area at in-cosmetics Asia, including:
Redsnow from Biospectrum, an ingredient specialised in anti-pollution with strong anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, anti-ageing efficacy and collagen-boosting properties against pollutant-induced stress.
SkinGuard from Ichimaru Pharcos, which contains nine types of highly-functional natural ingredients to protect every aspect of the skin against environmental stress. It not only helps to inhibit skin cell damage caused by environmental pollutants but it also boosts the skin’s barrier function to prevent harmful substances (PM 2.5) from entering the skin. In addition, it protects extracellular matrices such as collagen while maintaining lymphatic functions.
Additional ingredients with anti-pollution benefits from suppliers including Biotechmarine/Seppic, CLR, Freda, Greentech, ID Bio, Lipoid Kosmetik, Nikko Chemicals, Seiwa Kasei, Silab and Solabia will also be on display in this Spotlight On area.
The show will focus on two further topics as part of this new feature, with other leading experts taking a closer look at the cosmetic industry in France, and the exciting rise of halal ingredients and products.
