New research confirms additional efficacy in topical applications

Sophim has shared new research findings confirming extra efficacy on skin by Biophytosebum®, a dry vegetable emollient with active properties from olive. .

The low molecular weight molecules, produced by Sophim in Provence region, South of France, proved to be highly effective in skin care and decorative cosmetics.

Studies were conducted to evaluate the soothing effect of Biophytosebum on skin damaged by a chemical irritant agent (SLS: sodium lauryl sulfate) and of its efficacy in improving skin elasticity and moisturising.

In vivo data suggest that Biophytosebum reduces TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss) and plays a key role in the recovery of the lipidic skin barrier, where liquid wax-esters and squalene are major components.

Biophytosebum is a China-listed (Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients) and Cosmos-approved, 100% vegetable ingredient with excellent sensorial benefits.

It gives a light and non-greasy texture to the finished product, whereas its active bio-molecules help the skin to remain moisturized and youthful.

Biophytosebum® is only available in the UK from Azelis.  Contact: www.sophim.com
