Jakarta roadshow this month

Taking place next week, the in-cosmetics Jakarta Roadshow will be an excellent opportunity to learn more and make the most of the opportunities the cosmetics industry has to offer in this fascinating and diverse country.

Indonesia provides fertile ground for the cosmetics industry. With 250 million inhabitants, the country boasts the world’s 4th largest population. Retail value cosmetic sales in Indonesia have been developing at a solid pace (9% since 2013 and the same forecast until 2016) and urban points of sales number in excess of 1.5 million.

Tapping into the swelling demand for cosmetics and the country’s wide consumer base are 700 cosmetic manufacturers who have helped build Indonesia up as South East Asia’s second largest market after Thailand.

With cosmetic use penetration standing at 81% (the equivalent of 40 million households – similar to Germany’s market) and potential revenue gain predictions pointing to Indonesia entering the top 10 of global skincare markets by 2019, cosmetic experts are confident about Indonesia’s prospects.

As personal care ingredient suppliers are stepping up their efforts to penetrate and consolidate their presence in this flourishing market, in-cosmetics Asia, the leading exhibition and conference in Asia, will be running a Roadshow at the prestigious Hotel Indonesia Kempinski (Grand Ballroom) in Jakarta on Thursday 27 August with a view to connecting suppliers and local cosmetic manufacturers.

As a mini in-cosmetics Asia event in association with the Indonesia Society of Cosmetic Scientists (HIKI) and with Personal Care Magazine as the media partner, the roadshow will comprise stands and table tops where ingredient suppliers from Asia and North America will be showcasing their latest innovations.

Delegates will also be treated to a full day of free seminars with topics encompassing halal product certification, plant cell stem anti-ageing, formulating high pigmented lipsticks and thin foundations, anti-pollution, a comprehensive presentation on global personal care trends by Euromonitor International and more.

Suppliers exhibiting and speaking at the event will include AMA Laboratories, Ashland, BIO-FD&C,  PT.Brenntag, City Flower Asia, Croda, Evonik, Kobo Products, KOHJIN Life Sciences,  LPPOM MUI, Namsiang, PT Manuchar, Salicylates & Chemicals and Strahl and Pitsch.
