The recently concluded SCSS Suppliers' Day, held at Mandarin Orchard Hotel on 18 July, has been declared another great success.
There were approximately 140 participants from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, France, Germany and United States in attendance. The organisers say that this proves the strength of commitment from its members and guests to continuously support the society. Interesting new products were highlighted during the technical conference, including: Sphingony from Evonik – a naturally occurring, skin-identical sphingolipid which prevents hair loss by addressing scalp health and rebalancing the life cycle of the hair. Carbopol Aqua SF-1 OS Polymer from Lubrizol – an excellent emulsion stabiliser which requires less
emulsifier and structurants to achieve stability and texture. HallBrite BHB (Butyloctyl Salicylate) from HallStar – an interesting emollient which can act as a solvent for crystalline Organic UV Filters and assist with pigment dispersion. One-on-one discussions between delegates and exhibitors were held at table top displays. These include AMA Laboratories, Ajinomoto, Ashland, Campo Research (Gold Sponsor), Croda, DSM Nutritional Products, Evonik Industries, Floratech, Hallstar (Silver Sponsor), IMCD MY, Lipotec S.A.U. (Silver Sponsor), Lubrizol, Nikko Chemicals (Bronze sponsor), Seppic, Silab SEA Singapore Polytechnic and Technico Flor. As 2014 marks the 10-year anniversary of the society, its current president, Ms. Suiniaty Basirun, cut and shared a cake among the members. The grand celebration is being organised before end of the year. Finally, in appreciation of delegates’ participation and in commemoration of the Society’s 10th Anniversary, two lucky winners were drawn to bring home a brand new iPad mini each.
