Pigments price increase

Merck KGaA announced recently a global price increase for all its pigments and cosmetic raw materials, in most cases up between 5% and 15%, and in select cases up to 30%.

The new prices will be effective 1 November, 2011. In making the announcement, Peter Halas, head of the pigments and cosmetics business unit at Merck, cited the continuous rise in energy and key raw material costs as necessitating the price increases. Merck will inform its customers about the changes in the coming weeks. The company said that it will continue to focus on maintaining its high quality level and innovation pipeline as well as continuously expanding the variety of services offered in order to further support and enhance the business success of its customers
