Photostabilising silicone launch

The HallStar Company has introduced HallBrite PSF, a new photostabilising silicone fluid that photostabilises the active ingredients in sunscreens while improving the feel and spreadability of sun care and daily wear products with sun protection factors.

HallBrite PSF (INCI name: Undecylcrylene Dimethicone) combines HallStar’s tripletquenching photostabiliser technology with the aesthetic benefits of silicone. The resulting organo-modified silicone polymer provides a lubricious skin feel and photostabilises sunscreen active ingredients such as avobenzone. The patent-pending compound is a multifunctional ingredient that delivers the silky feel consumers want in a lotion or cream with the photostabilisation needed to provide long-lasting and effective UVA and UVB sun protection. As an added benefit, HallBrite PSF may also aid in the dispersion of metal oxides such as titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and iron oxide in sun care and makeup applications.
