Atrium Biotechnologies has announced the launch of a new line of five unique peptides, developed in France. These well defined biomimetic peptides supported by rigorous scientific studies are efficient tools for anti-ageing, photo damage, suncare, tissue repair, skin whitening and soothing care formulations.
The new range features ECM-protect, a peptide that inhibits the enzymatic activity of the elastase and the cutaneous MMP-1. It defends the body’s own collagen and elastin network against deleterious damage caused by environmental factors and ageing, and helps bring back firmness and elasticity to the skin.
Also from the company, Kollaren is a biomimetic peptide derived from the hepatocyte growth factor. Melanostatine 5 is a biomimetic peptide antagonist of the á-MSH which works by preventing activation of the tyrosinase, and thus blocking melanin synthesis. Tyrosinase inhibition reduces the formation of unwanted pigmentation, allowing for control over skin tone and brown spot regulation. Another peptide antagonist of the á-MSH, Melitane can be used as a natural photo protector and as an inflammation modulator, providing significant protection against UV-induced erythema.
Thymulen 4 is a biomimetic peptide derived from the youth hormone, thymopoietin. This highly purified ingredient compensates for the natural loss of thymic factors associated with the decline of the thymus with age. It increases the immuno-vigilence of the skin and helps regenerate the epidermal profile, helping to combat skin ageing.
Also available from Atrium Biotechnologies is Aldavine, a highly potent active ingredient born from the calibrated association of unique polysaccharides derived from two algae: Ascophyllum nodosum and Asparagopsis armata. Cosmetic applications include anti-ageing, photo damage, Actinic Elastosis, aftersun care, Rosacea, sensitive skin, Telangiectasia, acne, and protection of microcapillary integrity.
