A chronobiological cell energiser, introduced by Sederma, helps the skin recover its firmness and tone.
Some cutaneous functions of importance are governed by periodical variations according to day and night rhythms. During daylight the skin boosts diverse protective functions with regard to environmental threats. At night, the skin increases its renewal and regeneration metabolic processes.
Calcium is known to play a preponderant role in cell metabolism and the cell has an intracellular pathway for releasing the calcium stored in the reticulum. The latter contributes to “waking up the cell”. In order to boost their metabolism, cells need a metabolic trigger: calcium, and an important supply of energy in the form of Adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Phosphoinositides, present in all mammalian cells, are involved in the cell energy level as they are the precursors of ATP. Thus they contribute to activating cell metabolism.
Sederma’s Chronodyn, as a chronobiological source of phosphoinositides, expands the amount and storage of ATP, as well as stimulating the cellular bioavailability of calcium.
The efficacy of Chronodyn was conducted on a group of 21 women with an average age of 44 with moderate sagging of the cheeks. The individuals applied twice daily a cream containing 3% Chronodyn to one half of the face and a placebo to the other half. After one month’s treatment with the cream containing Chronodyn, the skin was three times firmer and four times more toned compared to the skin treated with the placebo.
Chronodyn is designed to stimulate cutaneous vitality and energy, providing the skin with the ability to assure its regenerative functions by stimulating the essential elements for its metabolism.
