Singapore has been chosen as the venue for the Asian Society of Cosmetic Scientists Conference to be held from 7 to 9 March, 2007. The theme for this event will be “Delivering Science to the Depths of Asian Skin”.
This two and a half day international conference is expected to draw 200-300 cosmetic scientists, formulation chemists, cosmetic suppliers and manufacturers from Asia, Australia, US and Europe. High profile experts will deliver scientific lectures on formulation techniques, regulatory and safety issues, proof of efficacy, new ingredients and raw materials as well as novel research. The event will provide a rare opportunity to hear and learn from gurus who work in the famed “beauty corporations”. Parallel to the lectures will be an added bonus of poster presentations in related sciences such as physics, nanotechnology, biochemistry etc.
The Asian Society of Cosmetic Scientists (ASCS) spans Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. This is a regional professional society that aims to embrace cross border fertilisation of the cosmetic science profession and industry by organising bi-annual conferences and regular presidents’ meetings.
In 2007, the Society of Cosmetic Scientists Singapore (SCSS), as a member of the ASCS, will play host to this conference, a first for Singapore. The last event was held in Bangkok. Hosting the forthcoming event will be a milestone for the local cosmetic science industry, a growing segment that is supported and promoted by the Singapore Government. It will serve to further entrench Singapore as both a science and cosmetic hub.
In addition to the stimulating event programme, SCSS has arranged an entertaining itinerary of sight-seeing activities that promises to let its international visitors take home lasting memories of the world class Lion city.
