Fruit butters for personal care

Biochemica International has introduced antioxidant-rich, USDA NOP organic certified fruit butters to the personal care industry.

According to the company, the butters contain lyophilised (freeze dried) whole fruits that are combined with a proprietary blend of other USDA NOP organic ingredients to form a luxurious, soft and spreadable version of the fruit in anhydrous form. The super fruit butters contain the lyophilised whole fruit of the respective species. In each case, only the water is removed from the fruit, leaving intact the dried fruit constituents including the fibre, complex sugars, carotenoids, phenolics, polyphenols and their associated antioxidant properties. The resultant lyophilised fruit is then micronised and infused into a natural, USDA – NOP Certified Organic butter base for easy absorption into the skin. The butter base consists of organically certified shea and palm butters, as well as organic jojoba oil. These ingredients are a unique mix of both wellknown, classical emollients (shea and jojoba) and a lesser known ingredient that is only supplied by Biochemica International, palm butter. All three have complex fatty acid profiles that lend themselves towards penetrating the epidermis in order to lock in the skin’s natural moisture, while providing important nutrients.
