Nanotechnology to help skin care

Nanoegg Research Laboratories are promoting their latest product which they claim has potential to combat wrinkles and aid whitening.

The company has successfully developed a unique drug encapsulating technology, and using this technology, they were able to stabilise retinoic acid. This acid is a chemical derivative of vitamin A, and as a micelle that is coated with a CaCO3 nano-size thin layer, the company called it ‘Nanoegg’. Retinoic acid itself has been used for these skin care purposes on the market for a while, but also has a side effect of severe skin irritation and typically requires a nonadministration period. However, Nanoegg achieves controlled release of retinoic acid to maximise the skin care effects, and at the same time it manages to minimise the side effects dramatically. In addition to this, Nanoegg is also expected to help in providing treatment for diabetes, arthropathia, injury-ofspinal- cord and others.
