Demand for skin beautifying ingredients that can be used orally and topically is growing worldwide, according to French company, Axialys.
The company is a nanotechnology research centre, and it has recently developed and is now promoting a unique ingredients, Viqua, that can be used in cosmetic as well as in food with significant moisturising, anti-ageing and skin whitening properties. Combining powerful anti-oxidants from pomegranate and a patented delivery system, Gabriel Khazaka. ADS Nanotechnology, Axialys says that Viqua is the only known ingredient to be intelligently used by the cell to scavenge free radicals. According to Bejit Edeas, Axialys chief innovation officer: “Axialys R&D laboratory demonstrated that, thanks to ADS Nanotechnology, Viqua crosses intact the cell membrane and accumulates into the mitochondria where it actively scavenges free radicals. This is the key to the efficacy and what differentiates Viqua from other active ingredients.” Aimed for both cosmetic and food applications, Viqua’s beautifying effect was demonstrated in a clinical trial. Following 28 days treatment with Viqua, the trial indicated that there was an increase of skin moisturising of 40%, and a reduction in wrinkles of 26% with a visible whitening of dark spots. According to Axialys Innovations, one of the top cosmetic manufacturers in mainland China has already expressed interest in acquiring Viqua on an exclusive basis.
