Making Cosmetics to feature live formulation LabFocus

The organiser of the Making Cosmetics trade show in Milan this November has unveiled a refresh of its formulation LabFocus event.

Instead of traditional static presentations, this year's lineup features live, 30-minute demonstrations directly from a working laboratory.

The live presentations will showcase a dynamic blend of artistry and science, with companies unveiling a new generation of ingredients and technologies.

The demonstrations are designed to provide formulators with actionable insights into creating high-performance, sustainable, and data-driven products.

From the tactile experience of mixing a perfect emulsion to the strategic use of software for regulatory compliance, the LabFocus event is a masterclass in the future of cosmetic R&D.

Companies like Ashland and Evonik are poised to demonstrate the tangible benefits of their ingredients, while technology firms such as Coptis will show how software is now as critical to a lab as a beaker.

The LabFocus is managed by the creative and passionate formulators of Laboratorio Cosmopolita.

Event director Sara Valorz said the new format underscores a “profound shift in the personal care sector, where the focus is moving from theoretical concepts to practical, real-time application and problem-solving”.

“The presentations reveal a clear industry direction: a non-negotiable commitment to sustainability, a powerful reliance on data and digital tools, and a consumer-centric approach that addresses evolving demands for both efficacy and ethical integrity,” she added.

Making Cosmetics will take place on 19-20 November at the Rho Fiera Milano.
