Marinova marine ingredients attain EU organic certification

Australian personal care ingredient maker Marinova has attained European Union( EU) organic certification for its portfolio of Maritech organic fucoidans.

Supported by an extensive dossier of scientific evidence, Maritech organic fucoidans are premium extracts sought after for inclusion in skin care formulations.

“Attaining EU organic certification provides additional confidence for formulators and consumers alike,” said Marinova quality manager Dr Michelle Mendoza.

“Maritech organic fucoidans tick all the boxes. They are natural, efficacious and supported by a sustainable and transparent supply chain that is regularly and independently audited.”

EU organic certification is the latest accreditation attesting to Marinova's strict compliance with international production standards.

The accreditation complements existing EU Novel Foods authorisation for the portfolio of Maritech organic fucoidans.

These high purity extracts also have FDA-notified GRAS status and are USDA National Organic Program (NOP) certified.

Marinova said it continues to set global benchmarks for environmental stewardship. The company has recently been celebrated in the Banksia National Sustainability Awards, Australia’s most prestigious sustainability awards programme.

Marinova was named the 2025 national winner of the highly coveted Healthy Planet, Healthy People category for the sustainable production of its bioactive fucoidan extracts and demonstrated alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Marinova has also been recognised for its leadership in two other prominent Australian business awards programs, the Telstra Best of Business Awards and The Australian Export Awards.

In both cases, Marinova was the recipient of awards celebrating outstanding sustainability initiatives.
