Brenntag has signed agreements with Alteqo of the Netherlands and PureTech Scientific of the United States for the distribution of personal care ingredients.
The exclusive distribution agreement with Alteqo covers the Dutch company’s sustainable Glycasol ingredient for Germany, France, United Kingdom, Poland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Norway, Spain and Portugal.
Glycasol is produced in Europe and increasingly being used as a replacement for commonly used glycol ethers like DPM (Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether), EDG (Ethyldiglycol), BDG (Butyldiglycol) and PGPE (Propoxy-Propanol), as it offers a more sustainable alternative with fewer environmental concerns.
Brenntag says it its mild, non-toxic nature makes it ideal for use in beauty & care applications such as hair care.
Meanwhile, Brenntag’s distribution deal with Belle, West Virginia-based PureTech Scientific covers the latter’s Glypure cosmetic-grade glycolic acid in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Brenntag says PureTech Scientific’s state-of-the-art manufacturing process provides top-tier glycolic acid solutions that can be incorporated into a wide array of personal care products, including dermatological peels, toners and hair styling solutions, while delivering the highest levels of purity, consistency and quality available in the market.
