Jungbunzlauer signs up to United Nations Global Compact

Swiss personal care ingredient maker Jungbunzlauer has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) initiative.

The Basel-based firm said this was a strategic move to underscore its commitment to aligning its operations and strategies with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact.

These include taking action in the areas of human rights, labour, environment, anti-corruption, and to act in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Joining the UN Global Compact is a natural step in reinforcing our commitment to act as a responsible company,” said chief executive Bruno Tremblay.

“We are delighted to join this global movement of forward-thinking companies and stakeholders as we strive to make a positive impact on our employees, customers, and the communities we serve,” he added.

Jungbunzlauer said that participation in this initiative supports the company’s efforts to reduce emissions and resource consumption, limiting environmental impact, ensuring a safe and encouraging work environment that supports employee development, offering safe and sustainable products that meet high-quality standards, and promoting responsible business ethics both within the company and throughout its business partnerships.
