Finnish cosmetic ingredients maker Nordic Bioproducts has appointed C.Q. Massó to distribute its microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) product in Spain and Portugal.
Produced from wood, MCC is marketed as a replacement for talc, titanium dioxide, and fossil-based ingredients in personal care products.
Nordic Bioproducts recently opened a facility in Lappeenranta, Finland - the world's first continuous production line of up to 10,000 tonnes a year.
“We’re excited to work with C.Q. Massó and others who share our commitment to advancing safer and more sustainable beauty industry,” said Nordic Bioproducts CEO Olli Kähkönen.
“Our collaborations go beyond distribution; together, we’re exploring MCC’s potential to replace fossil-based and other harmful ingredients in innovative new formulations,” he added.
Berta Oncins, department manager of C.Q. Massó, said: “Our collaboration with Nordic Bioproducts reflects our shared vision for advancing beauty formulations with ingredients that are not only safe and sustainable but also meet the high-performance demands of today’s cosmetics industry.”
