Merck unveils new pigment

Merck has launched a new effect pigment called Colorona Precious Fine Gold. It exhibits an exceptionally warm gold tone with a silky sheen, and this is achieved by a special structure of metal oxide layers in combination with the particle size of 5 µm to 25 µm.

Natural mica is the substrate. Thanks to its high metallic lustre and good hiding power, fascinating liquid gold effects can be achieved in cosmetic applications such as eyeliners, mascaras and shampoos. The new, fine sized pigment differs from other gold pigments in its unique, pure colour effect in combination with stunning colour intensity. Colorona Precious Fine Gold is approved worldwide for use in all cosmetic applications. The pigment can easily be added to cosmetic formulations and creates intensive effects in transparent formulations even at extremely low concentrations. It can be readily combined with other pigments to achieve a variety of gold shades. Merck will ensure that Colorona Precious Fine Gold will be in compliance with REACH.
