Vytrus Biotech has revealed the results of its latest rinse-off test for Elaya Renova, a ‘skinification’ active for hair and scalp.
The active was found to enhance hair strength by 15% compared to the untreated control after only application, showing significant resilience against breakage under stress.
Strength parameter was measured by applying the tensile strength, a controlled force to each hair fibre, and the maximum force required to break the fibres was recorded
Meanwhile, hair hydration was significantly improved, with a 48% increase in moisture retention.
This was measured using a Corneometer, showing the active’s efficacy in locking moisture in the hair fibre.
Furthermore, the active ingredient significantly reduced the occurrence of split ends up to 75%.
Split ends were counted before and after treatment with a microcamera, highlighting its potential to repair and protect hair.
“These benefits positions Elaya Renova as a competitive active ingredient for consumers looking to improve hair structure and hydration, and reduce split ends after a rinse-off treatment,” said a spokesman.
“In addition to its rinse-off efficacy, Elaya Renova represents a 100% natural, IECIC listed and Halal compliant active that demonstrated leave-on science-backed efficacy on hair and scalp in terms of hydration, protection, strengthening, conditioning, regeneration and penetration,” he added.
