Spanish personal care ingredient maker LipoTrue has joined the UN Global Compact, a voluntary initiative focused on corporate social responsibility.
This means LipoTrue is committed to following ten internationally recognized principles related to human rights, labour, environment and anti-bribery.
The principles of the UN Global Compact provide a common ethical and practical framework for businesses to be more sustainable in their strategies and operations.
These principles are derived from UN Declarations and Conventions and represent the core values that businesses should integrate into their daily practices.
Joining the Global Compact also means the company has aligned its goals with the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) established by the UN.
The 17 SDGs have a different but closely related purpose for businesses. They are at the centre of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and represent ambitious long-term targets for creating a better world.
Governments, businesses, and other stakeholders work together to achieve these goals and improve the wellbeing of people and the planet.
“By adhering to both the ten principles and the SDGs, LipoTrue is equipped with the right values and vision to contribute meaningfully to society and the environment,” said a spokeswoman.
