Clariant explores Amazon to inspire latest formulations

Clariant has taken the wraps off new formulations inspired by the Amazon rainforest, Be The Explorer, ahead of the in-cosmetics Latin America trade show in São Paulo, Brazil on 27-28 September.

Be The Explorer is based on a journey made through the Brazilian Amazon rainforest.

The journey starts at Belém do Pará in northern Brazil and travels through the Marajó Archipelago and the Terra Grande-Pracuúba Extractive Reserve.

The trip finishes in Salvaterra near a Quilombo sanctuary where a community of mothers and farmers practices traditional extraction techniques.

The journey inspired Clariant to create four formulations based on Amazonian natural ingredients while respecting local communities.

Tropical-(H)air-Control is a conditioning mist; Night-in-the-forest is a sleep potion; Hot-Spot is an uplifting gel and Footilicious is an exfoliating cream.

“We are looking forward to introducing them to a wider audience at the in-cosmetics Latin America. There will be postcards with links to the full travelogue as well as the detailed formulas and sample kits to try all formulations directly at the booth,” said a Clariant spokeswoman.

“We worked closely with our partner communities to also design and produce the fabric cases the samples will be presented in,” she added.
