Biesterfeld extends distribution rights for Carbonwave’s SeaBalance 2000 emulsifier

German personal care ingredient distributor Biesterfeld has extended an agreement with Carbonwave for the latter’s SeaBalance 2000 seaweed-based emulsifier.

The new deal will see Biesterfeld distribute the product in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Croatia.

Earlier this year, Biesterfeld was granted distribution rights for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and the Baltic States.

SeaBalance 2000 is a seaweed-based cosmetic emulsifier made from upcycled sargassum seaweed. ISO16128 99.5% natural and suitable for body and cosmetic applications.

Carbonwave is a public benefit corporation whose mission is to enable gigaton-scale carbon drawdown by upcycling Sargassum seaweed into ultra-regenerative, plant-based biomaterials.

“The first months of cooperation with Biesterfeld were characterized by mutual trust and success. For us, an extension of the distribution rights was therefore the next logical step. We look forward to a continued successful partnership,” said Jeff Yeh, vice-president of personal care, Carbonwave.

Biesterfeld Specialty Chemicals product manager Jyle Garleff added: “We are pleased to be able to expand our existing distribution rights with Carbonwave after only a few months. Our team can now reach even more customers across Europe to meet the growing demand for sustainable raw materials and resources.”
