Colonial Chemical appoints president for Middle East region

US speciality ingredients maker Colonial Chemical has appointed Dr. Peter Chetcuti as president of Colonial Chemical ME Arabia (CCME).

Chetcuti will report to the board directly and be responsible for all operations, manufacturing, commercial revenue, and P&L for CCME.

The new CCME president has more than 34 years of experience in the field of speciality chemicals.

Prior to joining CCME, from 2009–2022, Chetcuti served as president of StarChem LLC, a speciality chemical manufacturer for the textile, oil and gas, HI&I and personal care, and chemical in-termediates markets.

From 1987–2009, he held leadership roles at Huntsman. Chetcuti received a BS in chemistry from University of Bristol, UK and a PhD in chemistry from University of California, Los Angeles.

“The appointment of Dr. Chetcuti to this role is a significant element in Colonial’s plans for the successful start of operations of CCME, and driving forward a range of additional steps as we strengthen our position in this region of the world,” said CCME chairman David Anderson.

“In Peter, we’ve got a chief executive who cares passionately about this industry, our clients, and our team. He has demonstrated significant success for over 30 years and has an in-depth understanding and knowledge of all sides of the business. He is the right person to lead CCME to the next stage of our evolution as a pre-eminent global speciality chemical manufacturer," he added.
