Chinese speciality ingredient maker Soho Aneco Chemicals has launched BioSyn-Bisabolol, a natural active produced through large-scale fermentation.
Bisabolol is a sesquiterpene ingredient that exists in nature and has been used in traditional medicine for hundreds of years.
This natural ingredient has a wide range of uses, with multiple effects such as anti-inflammatory, skin soothing and barrier repair, it can protect the skin from daily stress.
BioSyn-Bisabolol (INCI: α-Bisabolol) is said to be particularly suitable for products for sensitive skin care, baby care and after-sun care applications.
Soho Aneco Chemicals says production through fermentation solves the problem of unstable supply of natural sources of α-bisabolol due to seasonal factors.
“Our unique process ensures the high purity and quality, with higher physiological activity compared to the synthetic source of α-bisabolol. The integrated production chain reduces production costs,” said a spokeswoman.
