Fruit d’Or will launch a cold-pressed COSMOS-certified organic and upcycled cranberry seed oil at the in-cosmetics Global trade show in Barcelona in late March.
The oil comes from cranberry seed generated by the Canadian company’s dried fruit production in Quebec and upcycled to extract the oil.
This reduces residual materials at the company’s production facilities. Fruit d’Or organic cranberry seed oil is produced with non-GMO ingredients and contains no parabens, phenoxyethanol, synthetic perfumes and dyes or other petrochemical ingredients.
“Everything Fruit d’Or does is driven by our respect for our environment. We are committed to the responsible use of natural resources,” said business development vice-president Sylvain Dufour. “For example, we proactively offset our greenhouse gas emissions and our company is accelerating our transition to renewable energy.”
Fruit d’Or says the cranberry seed oil is suitable for skin and facial care including moisturizers, masks, eye creams and balms, as well as hair care including shampoo, conditioner and hair masks.
"Cranberries have been used for health since the 17th century. Fruit d’Or cranberries are grown and processed in a way that retains all the goodness of the fruit,” added Dufour.
“With the rising demand of natural functional ingredients combined with the well-established cranberry health benefits, we expect acceptance of our organic cranberry seed oil to be brisk".
