Gattefossé breaks ground on Texas manufacturing facility

Gattefossé has broken ground on its first North American manufacturing facility in Lufkin city, Texas.

The $50m plant, which will manufacture lipid-based specialty ingredients for the personal care and pharmaceutical industries, is due online in 2024.

The 140-year-old French company produces lipid-based ingredients for the beauty and health care industries worldwide. The Lufkin facility will be the first of its kind built by Gattefossé in North America.

The company first expanded to the US with the establishment of a liaison’s office in Yonkers, New York followed by the opening of its Technical Center of Excellence in 2017 in New Jersey.

“The obvious next step in the company’s growth was to offer US manufactured products to its US customers”, said Eric Brun (pictured, left), president and CEO of Gattefossé North America.

“The facility will ultimately be a hub not just for North America, but worldwide”, said Eduardo de Purgly (pictured, centre), Gattefossé Group CEO.
