Croda International retains platinum EcoVadis sustainability rating

British personal care chemicals developer Croda International has retained its platinum rating for business sustainability by EcoVadis.

The rating was accompanied by a new first for the company, with Croda achieving the highest carbon management level in Ecovadis’ new carbon scorecard.

Croda was given the highest ‘Leader’ rating for its net zero ambition and approved science-based targets.

EcoVadis’ sustainability assessment methodology is an evaluation of how well a company has integrated the principles of sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into their business and management systems.

Croda was identified as having advanced CSR practices across Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

“In becoming only the third major chemical company in the world to have a 1.5°C science-based target validated, we are already leading our sector,” said Croda International sustainability director Julia Creasey.

“We are now turning that ambition into action with investment-ready decarbonisation roadmaps across all of our manufacturing sites.”
