April in Paris: Sustainability de rigueur at in-cos Global

New editor Tim Probert wraps up developments and new product launches at in-cosmetics Global 2022 in Paris

It’s good to be back. The first face-to-face incosmetics Global since 2019 in its spiritual home of Paris saw over 700 exhibitors - of which more than 100 were first-time exhibitors. Paris was an undoubted success with a comparable number of visitors to a ‘normal’ event in pre-pandemic times

True, it was a shame that the attendance of Asian, and to a lesser extent North American, visitors took a hit due to Covid but this was very much an in-cosmetics Global event in look and feel. The buzz was there for all to witness.

A very noticeable theme among the exhibitors was sustainability. I lost count of the number of new products that had been launched with a sustainability angle, be it natural actives, upcycling of raw ingredients, new techniques for production of products based on fermentation rather than chemistry and, in some cases, entire new factories for the manufacture of sustainable raw ingredients.
