VAV Life Sciences introduces COSMOS-approved ingredients in Europe

India’s VAV Life Sciences has introduced a range of COSMOS-approved clean label ingredients – including lecithin and phospholipid delivery agents naturally derived from plant sources like soya and sunflower - for the European cosmetic industry.

Mumbai-based VAV will market its clean label products under the brands LECIVA-SMAP (soya lecithin), LECIVA-DIFUZ (soya phospholipids), and LECIVA-LITHE (soya phospholipids), LECIVA-DIFUZ M (sunflower phospholipids), LECIVA-LITHE M (sunflower phospholipids).

The development follows VAV’s recent approval from COSMOS, an international labelling standard, to produce and supply lecithin and phospholipid ingredients globally.

The COSMOS approval allows VAV’s natural cosmetics ingredients to be marketed and commercialized worldwide.

Lecithins are ingredients that can be engineered to form liposomes, structures that have a bilayer membrane resembling the basic cellular membrane structure of the skin.

This similarity makes them excellent delivery agents that allow cosmetic actives to penetrate the skin.

VAV Life Sciences managing director Arun Kedia said: “We are excited with the launch of our clean label natural ingredients as it will pave the way for VAV’s foray into European markets.

“Now cosmetic manufacturers will have more options for developing differentiated clean label products with ingredients that consumers trust.”
