Tagra Biotechnologies, the winners of the Rising Star award at this month’s in-cosmetics Global in Paris, have revealed details of their DeeperCaps encapsulated pigments dedicated to dark skin tones.
The Israeli firm says DeeperCaps is a double-layer microcapsule structure that - when the capsules are broken - the pigments adhere “effortlessly to skin and give great coverage, with a natural perfect colour-match, but without white-cast effect”.
The microencapsulation technology works in many kinds of gel, liquid, powder, and cream-based makeup/skincare products.
Tagra says its DeeperCaps allow cosmetic manufactures to re-boot skincare and turn existing lines into ‘hero’ colour products for people with dark skin tones, in record-time and a cost-effective way, without need of dedicated production lines.
“Our cellulose-based polymer shells are flexible, durable, and break only with mechanical application, it means: no leakage, no color change, and no breaking during production,” a spokeswoman said.
“It’s not just foundation that can be re-invented with DeeperCaps. Tagra’s micro-encapsulation technology works in many kinds of gel, liquid, powder and cream-based make-up and skin care products,” she added.
“By listening to consumers and creating products that fit their real-world needs, DeeperCaps allow to be on the fast-track to new markets and make a splash on social media for all the right reasons.”
