British manufacturer of solid format bases and natural ingredients for the personal care sector Stephenson has unleashed Syndopour 200-MB, a syndet melt and pour base.
The company said the melt and pour base allows formulators to produce hot pour syndet bars without large-scale manufacturing equipment.
The base can be melted using a microwave and poured into a mould or suitable container.
Stephenson claims Syndopour 200-MB is the first 100% soap-free, ultra-mild syndet melt and pour solid format base, which means it offers the ability to create a variety of mild, pH balanced hair, body and facial bars.
The ingredient list of the Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)-certified Syndopour 200-MB syndet base includes sodium cocoyl isethionate, propylene glycol, glyceryl stearate, aqua, and glycerin.
Stephenson claims Syndopour 200-MB has luxurious lather and high foaming properties “providing the perfect starting point for an innovative range of pH-neutral bars that are kind to skin”.
“This first of its kind melt and pour syndet base joins our melt and pour range. Syndopour 200-MB complements our solid conditioner base and was created on the back of our extruded shampoo base two years ago,” said product manager Michaela Daubney.
“Sustainability is a key business driver for Stephenson as consumers continue to look at ways to limit their plastic packaging use and conserve water,” she added.
“With the ever increasing demands of eco-conscious customers coupled with dynamic behavioural trends in the personal care market, the arrival of the revolutionary melt and pour syndet base directly responds to these trends.”
