British chemicals firm Scott Bader has launched its second range of sustainable products for the personal care market, Texiterra.
Texiterra said the new product range consists of 100% natural cold pressed oils and exfoliants carefully sourced from partners who share Scott Bader’s ethics and values.
The natural oils can be used as a base for a range of personal care formulations including shampoos, moisturisers, sun lotions and shaving creams, it added.
Scott Bader’s Texiterra cold pressed rapeseed oil is carbon neutral, plastic neutral and grown to sustainable LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) Marque standards.
LEAF Marque is a farm assurance system that shows that the crop has been grown sustainably with care for the environment through extended crop rotations, cover crops, companion crops, wildflower meadow margins, tree and hedgerow planting, beetle banks and beehives.
These methods, says Scott Bader, improve the biodiversity on the farm and ensures that sustainability stays front of mind throughout the whole farming system.
Scott Bader’s African oils partner harvest and process wild natural products. Its objective is to contribute to community development throughout Zimbabwe, particularly for women, by generating alternative production activities, employment opportunities and improved living conditions.
This is achieved within a framework that protects and manages production in an ecologically sound manner.
Texiterra is Scott Bader’s first range of 100% natural products and therefore a big step towards their 2036 vision of becoming a fully sustainable company with a net positive impact on the environment from their operations globally.
“We are delighted to launch our second range of natural products for the personal care market. The team have been working tirelessly to launch Texiterra and we look forward to working with our customers around the world on their personal care formulations,” said Mark Stanion, global product manager for Scott Bader’s functional polymers.
