German specialty chemicals company Lanxess is to present its new Flavors & Fragrances (F&F) business unit at in-cosmetics Global in Paris on 5-7 April.
The F&F unit was established following the acquisition by Lanxess of Emerald Kalama Chemical last August.
The company has combined F&F with existing Lanxess solutions for the manufacture of cosmetic products, formerly distributed by, for example, Lanxess Distribution.
“Our new F&F business is focused on enabling our customers to create formulations that meet demand for sustainable, skin-friendly and robustly preserved products,” said Holger Hueppeler, head of the F&F business unit.
“We achieve this by offering high purity, consumer-friendly ingredients, coupled with advanced technical and regulatory expertise. We help our customers to optimize their formulations and stay ahead of new consumer trends,” he added.
Lanxess said customers would also gain from supply chain benefits due to the company’s strategically located production capabilities.
“We are the only manufacturer that has sites on three continents, where production is carried out according to the highest industry standards,” said Hueppeler.
“The acquired offerings complement our business perfectly. We are backward integrated into benzoic acid and benzaldehyde, assuring our customers of superior availability, as well as cost and time advantages,” he added.
Lanxess offers Kalama, Purox and Solbrol benzoate antimicrobials preserve personal care products with a pH of up to 6.5. F&F’s preservative range also includes many other chemistries, such as 100% renewable blends.
These antimicrobials are often used in combination with multifunctionals and synergists, such as Purolan glycols and Kalama aromatic alcohols, which can enhance preservation robustness, deliver multiple performance characteristics and help to shorten INCI lists.
