Dutch-based special effect pigment supplier Geotech has taken the wraps off a new range of environmental friendly particles added to its product portfolio.
The range, which will be launched at in-cosmetics Global in Paris next month, include coarse pearlescent pigments using a new innovative technology named SFT.
With SFT, Geotech is capable to offer coarse synthetic pearlescent pigments with a narrow particle size distribution, approaching a traditional glitter effect.
The process creates a glittering pigment with up to 98% of the particles less than 150 micron.
This give formulators the opportunity to create safe eye products with environmental friendly sparkling effects, it said.
The new Geopearl SFT grade is also suitable for aerosol applications; research shows that the particles do not block the nozzle of spraycans.
The SFT grade is available in five products showing silver, gold and multicolour sparkling effects.
Also on show will be an addition to Geotech’s Geonature biodegradable glitter product line: a new 100 micron fine particle size.
The small particle size allows cosmetic producers to use them for eye products like pressed and loose powders. The range consists of eight colours based on a PET-free cellulose film.
Geotech said the introduction of the new products is guided by three colour concepts: Vibrant Iridescent; Colourful Pink to Gold; and Inspirative Metallics. The concepts contain formulation guidelines for colour cosmetics and personal care products.
Geotech will be displaying the new products at stand number T28 at in-cosmetics Global on 5-7 April.
