Solvay boosts guar in France

Solvay has announced the expansion of guar production capacity at its plant in Melle, France, in response to growing demand from the beauty care market. This will be completed in Q2. Precise details of the expansion were not disclosed.

The firm said that the expansion will ensure that it “continues to fully support our beauty care customers with improved service and flexibility in the context of severely challenged and disrupted global supply chains.

Solvay makes the Jaguar range of polymers from guar beans to bring conditioning and texturizing features to personal care product. The seeds are sourced in India, partially through the Solvay Sustainable Guar Initiative.
