TRI-K Industries has used its NaturePep natural peptide technology to develop NaturePep Ganoderma (INCI: Hydrolyzed Ganoderma Lucidum (Mushroom) Extract). The Ganoderma (or Reishi) mushroom has a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine.
The company said that this new peptide has been shown to reduce crow’s feet wrinkles and roughness, addressing the periorbital area of the face where the first signs of ageing can appear. It also repairs dermal degradation, prevents skin oxidative and cellular damage, and decreases melanin concentration on dark spots, TRI-K claimed.
“On skin, NaturePep Ganoderma shows dual action anti-aging to repair and protect by upregulating critical genes involved in dermal repair, stimulating the formation of proper collagen 3D structure and enhancing GAG’s synthesis,” said Dr Mihaela Gorcea, associate director of evaluations and scientific communications. “It helps repair skin damage caused by chronological ageing, UV damage, pollution and environmental stress.”
