BASF won twice at Chemical Week’s 2021 Sustainability Awards, which honour chemical producers’ excellence in environmental, social, and governance reporting, sustainable product development, and environmental programme
Both were in the beauty areas and were among 64 submissions by nearly 40 companies.
The company won Best Sustainable Product award for its Glucopan range of alkylpolyglucoside (APG) surfactants, which are made from 100% natural, renewable, plant-derived feedstock and are sulfate-free and readily biodegradable, with an excellent eco-toxicological profile.
BASF also won Best Sustainable Feedstock for the milestone it achieved in 2020 of sourcing 100% of its palm (kernel) oils exclusively from sources physically certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil.
