DSM is simplifying its operating structure and reorganising its activities into three market-focused business groups focused on food and beverage; health, nutrition and care; and, animal nutrition and care. As a result, the firm is reviewing options for its materials businesses, including a possible exit.
Personal care will form part of the health, nutrition and care group, which has about €2.5 billion/year in sales. This will also include early-life nutrition, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, medical nutrition, fragrances and biomedical materials. Philip Eykerman will lead it at board level.
The company said that the three new groups “will be much closer aligned with their respective customers and, through the integration of activities currently performed by the DSM Innovation Centre will be fully equipped to rapidly develop impactful science-based market-ready innovation”. The new structure comes into place in early 2022.
