In response to stringent SVHC limits on cyclopentasiloxane (D5) in leave-on applications, BRB has added two new alternatives with low cyclic levels to its range of silicone gum blends. BRB DM 55 and BRB 1417 (LC) are both based on linear polydimethylsiloxane with very low viscosity. They provide the same emolliency and similar volatile profiles as D5, the company states.
In addition, BRB has added BRB SG 210 (INCI: Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Dimethicone crosspolymer) to its silicone gel portfolio. This, it says, matches the industry benchmark in performance.
