Israeli start-up Synergio has launched BiomEco, a range of broad-spectrum, entirely botanically-based antimicrobial components that can target specified microorganisms at low concentrations in personal care and other applications.
“This multifunctional breakthrough technology is a microbiome-friendly preservation system that fights microbial resistance,” the company claims. BiomEco is high in antioxidants, hypoallergenic, skin-sensitive, eco-friendly, 100% natural to ISO standards and COSMOS-certified.
Synergio bases its products on EcoData, its own computational platform. This brings together its understanding of plants, synergies and predictive modelling and “illuminates the synergistic combination of plant bioactive compounds that can overcome CPG industry challenges”, it is claimed.
“By utilising nature’s micro-targeting techniques, BiomEco is delivering formulators the desired positive end results of a long-lasting product shelf life without the negative side effects on the skin microbiome,” said CEO Itamar Levy.
