Ingredients to create natural-looking hair styles

Hair styling products have the ability to dramatically alter a person’s look. Perhaps the epitome of this was the trend for oversized hair for both men and women during the 1980s. Since then, things have moved towards a more natural look.

Styling products that are strong, effective, but create a natural look is something of a challenge, but ingredient suppliers are using their expertise to rise to this challenge. One of the products recently on the market for this purpose is BASF’s Luviset® 360. This new styling polymer provides efficient styling performance by offering strong, flexible and long-lasting hold as well as low flaking. In addition, it supports anti-pollution claims and allows for new textures.

The new styling polymer has been designed to produce high viscous styling products with no or low movement inside the package and to create a wide range of final hair styling products such as gels, creams and waxes.

Thanks to its self-thickening properties in concentrations above 4 percent, Luviset 360 ensures a pleasant consistency in styling gels. Hair care manufacturers using Luviset 360 need less carbomer thickener to achieve target viscosity.
