Dow Corning has expanded its range of volatile silicone fluids with Toray FZ-3196 (INCI Name: Caprylyl Methicone).
Clear, colourless, and providing a nongreasy feel, Dow Corning Toray FZ-3196 Fluid can be used as a carrier for other ingredients or as a dispersing medium for hydrophobic powders and pigments in a wide range of personal care products including skin creams, lotions and gels, suntan lotions, make-up removers, facial cleansers, colour cosmetics, and hair care products.
Anja Krause, of Dow Corning Life Sciences, said: “FZ-3196 Fluid provides a unique light and smooth feel, superior cleaning with low residue, and improved gloss and color intensity in lipsticks. It also helps to improve the aesthetic appearance of cosmetic products by reducing tackiness and greasy feel of natural oils.”
Dow Corning’s range of volatile silicone fluids includes Dow Corning 200 Fluid 0.65cs, Dow Corning 200 Fluid 1cs, Dow Corning 200 Fluid 1.5cs, Dow Corning 200 Fluid 2cs, Dow Corning 2-1184 Fluid, Dow Corning 245 Fluid, Dow Corning 246 Fluid, and Dow Corning 345 Fluid.
Also new from the US company is the CE 0101 Wipes Lotion, which combines the performance-enhancing properties of silicones with a naturally derived stabiliser system to offer multifunctional options to personal care wipe applications.
Based on Dow Corning 7-3100 Gum Blend High Internal Phase Emulsion, CE 0101 Wipes Lotion can be used in wipes for facial and body care, make-up removal, baby and child care, hand sanitising, and sun care, with the possibility for customers to add compatible ingredients via cold processing to personalise their formulations.
