Launched by Dow Corning are its Underarm Solutions – a selection of resources to help formulators and marketers develop innovative antiperspirant and deodorant products for global consumers. The new technical and marketing aids have been designed by the company''s Beauty and Personal Care business.
To help formulators meet this challenge, a new brochure/selector guide has been developed as part of the Underarm Solutions launch. It describes the performance, aesthetic and formulating benefits of numerous Dow Corning brand silicones that are useful in underarm applications. A mini CD offers market information and analysis, technology references, specialised concept formulations, data sheets and intellectual property information. Two white papers covering technical and market data also are available.
“Our objective is to provide a range of formulating solutions that apply to emerging trends as well as established needs,” Michael Gee said. “As a result, product developers can create innovative products that stand out from the competition – and deliver the exact form, function and feel desired by diverse global users.”
Some of the emerging trends addressed in the launch include: seasonal products, energising deodorants, moisturisation, natural ingredients and anti-perspirants for sensitive skin. Formulations with reduced whitening, fast drying, improved salt suspension, low cost and ease-of-manufacturing attributes provide solutions for established underarm product needs.
