New silicone acrylate copolymers

Two new silicone acrylate copolymers from Dow Corning offer enhanced durability and aesthetics coupled with easy formulation for colour cosmetics.

They are Dow Corning FA 4001 CM Silicone Acrylate, a 30% silicone acrylate copolymer dispersed in cyclopentasiloxane [INCI: Cyclopentasiloxane (and) acrylates/polytrimethylsiloxymethacrylate copolymer] and Dow Corning FA 4002 ID Silicone Acrylate, a 40% silicone acrylate copolymer dispersed in isododecane [INCI: Isododecane (and) acrylates/ polytrimethylsiloxymethacrylate copolymer].

The transparent, water-like liquids form non-occlusive films that resist wash-off while ensuring durable, uniform colour. Finished formulations have minimal tackiness and greasiness, leaving skin smooth without a dry after-feel. For easy formulating, the silicone acrylate copolymers are compatible with a variety of common cosmetic ingredients, including pigments, organic sunscreens and triglycerides.
